New Record!!!

FINISHED!  Our sixth full length, SUPERNATURAL DISASTERS, is recorded, mixed and mastered and will see the light of day in late April/early May on LP/CD via Little Mafia Records and available through our website.  We realize this took a while but we think it was completely worth it.  We cannot thank our great friend Dan Dixon enough for the incredible work he put in on this thing.  He got some really amazing sounds, made impeccably wise suggestions and made us perform the best that we could.  To get a taste of these efforts, check out the new jam we have posted, “Disease Storm.”  We are also equally stoked to have the record drenched in the artwork of Oklahoma’s own Tony Roberts.  Discerning fans of uber-heavy music might recognize his touch.  Tony’s done some really great and diabolically brilliant work over the years.  See for yourself:   http://www.blackmindseye.org/
Not much else to say, really.  We had a blast making this and we hope you like it.
Shows to follow.  We promise.
More soon,
Traindodge

New Record Soon!!!

Hey there! Quick update: Our new record is almost finished! We record vocals this weekend, then mixing begins. Dan Dixon has been going above & beyond for us, and even the rough mixes sound incredible. We’ll post a new song as soon as we can. Also, we’re insanely excited to have Norman, Oklahoma’s own Tony Roberts doing the artwork for us this time.

We’ve been asked a bunch lately when all of our records will be back on iTunes. Still working on that, but in the meantime our entire catalog is now available for download right here: www.traindodge.bandcamp.com. This includes the first ever digital release of our 2005 EP “Under Black Sails” from the Japanese label Stiff Slack.

More news real soon!

We’re alive!

Hey there!  Time for an update, yes?

Got a few things happening.  But first thing’s first - shows!  Got a few.  Excited to get out.  It’s been a minute.  Here’s what we’re looking at:

Thurs 4/19 - Kansas City, MO @ Riot Room w/Waiting For Signal & Drop A Grand
Fri 4/20 - Minneapolis, MN @ Cause w/Self-Evident & Buildings
Sat 4/21 - Chicago, IL @ Quenchers w/Self-Evident & The Midwestern
Sat 4/28 - Norman, OK @ Norman Music Fest 5!  Bill and Dee’s stage.  We’re on at midnight.

New record!  Yes, it’s being worked on.  As you may have heard, Rob relocated to Atlanta in January so we’ve been having to chip away at it sporadically.  Lucky for us, Atlanta also happens to be the home of one Dan Dixon, whose name might ring a bell if you are familiar with a fine rock outfit called Dropsonic (R.I.P.).  As it turns out, Dan’s a fine engineer as well (please see Dropsonic VI for evidence).  After he mixed our ‘Remains’ EP last year, we thought it’d be wise to stay on course with his skills and try doing an entire album with him.  Rob & Dan have already started things up - we have 6 songs worth of drums already done, and we plan on getting back to work after this run of shows and hopefully, we can get it wrapped up this summer.  We’ll keep you up on our progress.

You may have noticed that a lot of our releases have disappeared from our usual online sources (iTunes, Amazon, etc.).  Ascetic Records split with their long time distributor a while back.  We’re in the process of getting our whole catalog available online again.  We expect to get this settled within the next couple of weeks.  In the meantime, nearly all of our releases are available right here - just click the ‘store’ link above, and we’ll take care of you.  Thank you to everyone who has done so recently.  The direct activity has been nice.  I’ve made more trips to the post office in the past four months than I have in the last four years.  We’ll announce it from the hills when we’re back up digitally.

Thanks a ton.  Hope to see you at a rock sesh.
Cheers,
j.

August Shows

Hey hey! Thanks to everyone who came out to our 15th anniversary show. We had a great time. Audio & video were captured. We have no idea if it’ll turn out watchable and/or listenable, but if it does, you’ll be the first to know.

Also, our new EP, “Remains”, is now available! You can get it on iTunes and most other online music stores, or even better, you can buy the double 7” version on clear vinyl from Little Mafia Records, or directly from us. Just click on the store link above and do the rest. A limited number were made, and they’re moving fast, so get your hands on one!

We have a handful of shows coming up in early August, most of them with Disguised As Birds, our tight bros from way back when. If we’re in your neighborhood, it’d be great to see you!

8/3/11 - Tulsa, OK @ Soundpony
8/4/11 - Oshkosh, WI @ Reptile Palace w/Disguised As Birds & Haunted Heads
8/5/11 - Madison, WI @ Frequency w/Disguised As Birds
8/6/11 - Newport, KY @ Southgate House w/Food (feat. Ed Crawford of fIREHOSE), Ampline, Knife The Symphony & Disguised As Birds

What can we say, we love to drive…

It’s time. We leave for tour tonight, just to get a headstart on the drive to our 1st show in Denver tomorrow. We’re not even in the van yet, and we already have folks to thank: Kent Johnson at Massive Graphics for giving us a place to rehearse, and for letting us print our shirts there; Scott Twitchell & Chris Harris for helping us get our new release printed & packaged; Cody Thompson for making sure our van won’t blow up; and everyone who helped us book these shows: St. Elias in Denver, Kimo in LA, Jon Lipfert in Phoenix, and Aaron Blanchard everywhere else. Speaking of Aaron, a bunch of these shows are with his band, Jr. Worship. They’re awesome, be sure to check them out. Hope to see some of you out there! Here are the final dates:

TOUR!

Everyone survive the apocalypse? Splendid. We spent it rocking out in Tulsa & Wichita, whilst breaking in our new live 2nd guitarist. His name is Ross Lewis, and he’ll do nicely, thank you very much. If you know us, or have seen us play within the last year, you probably already know Rossy. Anyway, he’s a bit of a badass, and his addition is allowing us to bust out a coupla golden oldies, and making the newer stuff sound even better. Come out to one of our upcoming shows, introduce yourself & buy him a beer. We’ve added one pre-tour show that we’re quite excited about:

6/4/11 - Norman, OK @ The Deli w/Rainbows Are Free

***West Coast Tour***
6/9/11 - Denver, CO @ Hi-Dive w/St. Elias/Armored Foxling/Mickey Bakas
6/10/11 - Salt Lake City, UT @ Shred Shed
6/11/11 - Portland, OR @ Agenda w/Jr. Worship/Shelter Red/White Orange
6/12/11 - Reno, NV @ Jub Jub’s w/Jr. Worship
6/13/11 - San Francisco, CA @ Kimo’s w/Jr. Worship
6/14/11 - Monterey, CA @ Carbones w/Jr. Worship
6/15/11 - Ventura, CA @ Billy O’s w/Jr. Worship
6/16/11 - San Diego, CA @ Ruby Room w/Jr. Worship/Ghetto Blaster
6/17/11 - Anaheim, CA @ Doll Hut
